Pastor James Greer

The condition of our heart affects every area of our lives, including our attitudes, relationships, decisions, and joy. A hard heart can hurt others, while a humble and wise heart allows us to help and encourage those around us. God wants us to seek His wisdom and remain close to His presence so our hearts continue to grow in the right direction. When sin affects our hearts, we can confess it, receive God’s forgiveness, and allow His grace to restore us. Like David, we can ask God to create a clean heart within us and renew our spirit. Keep your priorities centered on God and allow Him to restore the joy that comes from a heart that is close to Him.

Guarding your heart begins with guarding what you allow into your mind because your thoughts influence your attitudes, words, and actions. If we want to change our behavior, we must examine what we believe and replace unhealthy thoughts with the truth of God’s Word. Reading, remembering, and meditating on Scripture helps produce the right motivation and protects us from choices that lead us away from God. We must also be careful about the places we go and the people we allow to influence us because bad company can corrupt good character. An unguarded heart can eventually produce destructive thoughts and behaviors that affect every area of our lives. Fill your mind with God’s Word, choose your influences wisely, and diligently protect your heart.

Love produces joy when it is communicated correctly and willingly received. God demonstrated this perfectly by communicating His love through both His Word and His actions, ultimately giving His Son for us. In the same way, our words must be supported by actions that demonstrate genuine love to others. Even correctly communicated love cannot produce its intended joy when the other person is unwilling to receive it. Healthy relationships require both people to communicate and receive love in ways that can be understood and experienced. When right communication is consistently joined with right actions and received with an open heart, love can produce lasting joy.

God created you in His image with purpose, authority, and a destiny that brings honor and glory to Him. Through Christ, you have been redeemed from the curse and can walk in the blessings God has prepared for you. Your God-given destiny is not to live controlled by fear, guilt, or shame, but to walk in power, love, and a sound mind. In Christ, there is no condemnation, and your past does not have to determine your future. God has called you to be fruitful, live victoriously, and use your life to glorify Him. Claim your God-given destiny and confidently become who God created you to be.

Knowing what to do begins with understanding who God says we are. We are His masterpiece, created intentionally in Christ with a purpose and a plan already prepared for us. The acceptance, identity, security, and purpose we desire are ultimately found in God rather than other people or circumstances. Even our limitations can have a purpose because they teach us to depend on a God who has no limitations. Instead of allowing weaknesses to define us, we can rely on Christ for the strength to accomplish what He has called us to do. Know who you are in Christ, depend on His strength, and confidently walk in the purpose He has prepared for your life.

Your identity is not determined by what others say or think about you, but by who God says you are. You were not simply thrown together; God intentionally created you and declares that you are fearfully and wonderfully made. In Christ, you are loved, anointed, appointed, and secure in His unfailing love. Trouble, hardship, or the opinions of others cannot separate you from the love Christ has for you. You are free from condemnation and, through Jesus, you are more than a conqueror. Learn to see yourself through God’s Word and confidently live from the identity He has given you.

God does not want worry to control our thoughts and emotions; He invites us to bring everything to Him through prayer with a thankful heart. Even in seasons of suffering, we can experience peace by trusting God’s promises, purpose, and plan when we do not understand what He is doing. Hope reminds us that our present circumstances do not determine our future because God has plans of peace and hope for His children. When we mess up, we can repent, receive God’s forgiveness, and remember that His mercy is new every morning. Our ultimate purpose is to know that we belong to God and allow ourselves to receive the incredible love He has for us. Instead of allowing worry to take control, trust your Heavenly Father and allow His peace to guide the way you think and feel.

A strong family begins with a strong marriage centered on a daily relationship with God. Husbands and wives are called to support, strengthen, and sharpen one another as they grow spiritually together. Marriage is not simply about making each other happy, but helping each other become more like Christ. When parents become overly focused on other responsibilities, including their children, their marriage can begin to suffer. Couples should intentionally spend time together, give one another their best attention and energy, and care for each other’s needs. When Christ remains at the center and spouses intentionally strengthen their marriage, they create a healthier foundation for their children and family.

Healthy relationships begin by focusing on becoming the right person instead of trying to change someone else. Humility allows us to honor, encourage, and build others up rather than belittle them or focus only on ourselves. Real growth requires us to honestly examine our own lives and be willing to learn, unlearn, and relearn where necessary. When our hopes and expectations are centered on God instead of other people, we can love and serve others from a healthier place. Loyalty is an important foundation for lasting relationships, but our closest relationship must first be with Jesus. Make Jesus your best friend and allow your relationship with Him to shape the way you treat everyone else.
