Many times, our biggest leadership challenges will come up when we are down.
If we don’t continue to minister to others when we need to be ministered to, we won’t move past needing to be needed.
There is a time for both, but the Bible tells us it is more blessed to give than to receive. (Acts 20:35, NKJV)
Jesus was looking to retreat and grieve yet, we see him move (compassion) and minister.
One of the main differences in a leader and a follower is how they respond under pressure.
True leadership is proved when things are toughest not when things are great.
Even when we have bad days, we still have to be compassionate and attempt to help the needs of those who are hurting.
Anybody can be up when everything is great, but it’s how we respond when things are at the toughest that makes us true leaders. (Matt. 20:27-28, NKJV; 20:26-28, NLT)
How can we give when we really need to get? (How can we minister when we really need to be ministered to?)
Compassion – feeling the hurts of others. (Matt. 14:14, NKJV)
Because we have been ministered to. (2 Cor. 1:2-4, NKJV; 1 Cor. 12:1, AMP)
Because we always receive back more than we can ever give.
