Sometimes the burdens and difficulties we experience become the very things that cause us to recognize how desperately we need God’s help. Pride can keep us trying to handle everything ourselves, but seasons of misery can humble us and bring us to the point of crying out to God. Just as God saw the oppression of His people in Egypt and heard their cries, He sees our condition, hears our prayers, and knows our sorrows. What feels like overwhelming pressure can become the place where we finally surrender our independence and depend completely on Him. God has the power to bring change and perform a miracle, but we must be willing to humble ourselves and call out to Him.
